2)特别说明a lot
用作名词，表示“很多，多数”。 He knew a lot about it
用作副词，修饰形容词和动词，表示“非常，相当”。
He is feeling a lot better today他今天感觉好多了。
She laughed a lot她笑得很厉害。
3)注意a quantity of的谓语动词。后边加+不可数名词时,谓语动词用单数;后边加+可数名词复数，谓动动词复数。
A small quantity of water(不可数名词) is neededWater是不可数名词，谓语动词(Be动词用单数) There are a large quantity of flowers(可数名词) in the gardenFlowers是复数，谓语动词be动词用复数形式。
4)great/large quantities of，不管后边加不可数名词还是可数名词复数，谓动都用复数形式。
