白狐这首歌讲述的是关于一个白狐与一个书生的悲惨爱情故事。故事是这样子描述的：
一位书生在认真读书之时无意之中发现了一只中了箭受伤的白色狐狸，于是，这位书生救下这只狐狸。这只狐狸为了前世的恩修行千年化成人形在书生身边做丫鬟只为报恩，就在白狐报恩的那位书生上京赶考的时间到了，书生离开了白狐。
书生很顺利的考上了状元，但是却被皇上封为驸马，和公主成了亲，而白狐也为了爱选择了成全离开了，而书生真正喜欢的是白狐，在白狐离开后也抑郁而终。
