Overview
The Advanced 206 is a desktop version of our procedural trainer.
For the first time in a desktop simulator, flight characteristics of torque yaw, weather vane instability, rotor droop, vortex ring state, loss of tail rotor effectiveness etc. have been modelled. Pilots will need to carefully balance the pedals and collective against each other and be very cautious about wind azimuths in order to stay in control. If you do find yourself in trouble, pulling hard on the collective will only make matters worse as it will diminish your engine and rotor speed just like the real thing.
The extremely detailed engine management systems are affected by factors such as ambient air temperature, altitude, wind direction, battery load/condition/temperature and the time since the engine was last shut down. The specially designed switchgear and gauges;
highly realistic Tq, TOT,N1, N2/Nr, collective/throttle, circuit breakers, warning annunciator that work in harmony with outside factors and pilot input.
Your perfect hover suddenly turned into an uncontrolled spin and you crashed? the cause was probably main rotor vortex interference.
Engine too hot? spin the starter and watch the temperature drop, but spin it for too long and battery temperature will rise.
No fuel pressure? check the boost pump circuit breakers are pushed in.
Released the starter before 58% N1? time for an expensive engine rebuild.
The aircraft visual model is designed by Owen Hewitt repainted by Mark Adams. We would like to thank Owen for the use of his model. There are 3 variants to choose from - standard, no doors and TV camera.
Installation and setup
Install
once you have downloaded the file Dodosim adv 206.zip unzip it to the main aircraft folder within FS9 (if you have already unzipped it move the entire folder to that location, not just the contents) (C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS9/Aircraft) is the default location.
You will now have a file that should look something like this:
