大学生学英语应该用什么书
每个地区的大学都不一样。现在使用较广的基本都是外教社（上海外语教育出版社）、高教社（高等教育出版社）的教材。
还有学校的课程使用的是自编教材。
教材又称课本，它是依据课程标准编制的、系统反映学科内容的教学用书，教材是课程标准的具体化，它不同于一般的书籍，通常按学年或学期分册，划分单元或章节。它主要是由目录，课文、习题、实验、图表、注释和附录等部分构成，课文是教材的主体。
随着科技术的发展、教学手段的现代化，教学内容的载体也多样化了。除教材以外，还有各类指导书和补充读物；工具书、挂图、图表和其他教学辅助用具，教学程序软件包；幻灯片、**片、音像磁盘等。
此外，教材的编辑要妥善处理思想性与科学性、观点与材料、理论与实际、知识和技能的广度与深度、基础知识与当代科学新成就的关系。
教材编写：
（1）教材的组织方法。
其一，逻辑式组织。按照有关科学知识的内在逻辑顺序组织教材。
其二，心理式组织。以学生为本位，注重学生的兴趣、需要和能力，强调以学生的经验作为教材组织的出发点，逐步扩大教材的内容范围，使学生愿学、乐学，而较少考虑知识体系的完整性。
其三，折衷式组织。兼顾学科与学生两方面的需要和情况，择采两者之长。不过在兼顾学科与学生这两方面时，在不同的学科和学生不同的学习阶段，又有所侧重。
（2）教材的编排方式。
教材的编排是决定一个年级中某门学科的教学内容将按照怎样的次序组成，或这门学科内容在几个年级中的排列次序。教材的编排方式一般有四种：
其一，直线式排列。这种排列方式是对一科教材内容采取环环相扣、直线推进、不予重复的排列方式。也就是说，在教材的内容排列中，后面不重复前面已讲过的内容。
其二，螺旋式排列。它针对学习者的接受能力，按照繁简、深浅、难易的程度，使一科教材内容的某些基本原理重复出现，逐步扩展，螺旋上升。
其三，分支平行式。是把内容分为若干个平行的单元，针对这些平行单位分别采用相应的教学方法，逐一开展教学活动，最后进行总结。
其四，综合式，是上述几个方式的综合。
